Abstract

 A stronger capacity in English information acquisition and cross-cultural communication is requisite for naval officers in new times. This paper analyzes the difficulties the midshipmen have met in listening comprehension and speaking. It also expatiated on the advantages of English teaching through videos basing on psychological theories. In this paper, it summarizes the potential problems of the application of this teaching method. At last, it puts forward four suggestions on the effective use of English teaching through videos.
